I went out to East Pakistan in 1961 with BMS, but on the ship met my future husband who was going to Mount Hermon School in Darjeeling. After 2 years we married and I had to resign from BMS but still remained doing missionary work in India until 1986. I always retained an interest in and admiration for William Carey, so was delighted in 1989 to be appointed to BMS General Committee, and many times have taken individuals and groups on the “Carey Trail” in Northamptonshire.
In recent years I have been Chairman of the Carey Experience Committee which has been responsible for upgrading the Trail. So imagine my delight when last October I was able to return to Calcutta after MANY years and in the porch of the BMS Guest House was photographed beside these well-known words!
